{I think I’ll be doing this}

Day 1: Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

Kitty’s relationship was borderline perfect when she first discovered her mutation. As an only child living in Deerfield, an upper middle class suburb of Chicago, she seemingly had a perfect life. Her parents, Carmen and Theresa Pryde, loved her. She was a genius student taking college classes at 13, she was a dancer and participated in many other extra curricular activities, all in all it seemed like a picture perfect life.

However the same day Kitty’s mutant ability manifested her family was visited by one Miss Emma Frost, who was inviting Kitty to her school. Her parents loved Emma but she gave Kitty the creeps. Later that same day Professor Xavier and the X-Men came to visit Kitty and invite her to Xavier’s school and Emma Frost took that opportunity to kidnap the X-Men. Kitty ended up saving the team and bonding with Storm and Wolverine.

Kitty’s parents however blamed the whole incident of Kitty being missing for two days on Xavier and refused to let her go to his school so Jean wiped their memories of the last few days to convince them otherwise. That made Kitty’s relationship with her parents a little bit strained.

Once at Xavier’s Kitty talked to her parents less and less, with Storm and Wolverine kind of taking on the roles of her mother and father. Then, when her parents called to tell Kitty she was transferring to the Hellfire Academy (a transfer that lasted all of one day) Kitty became very angry with them.

Then, one Christmas break, Kitty followed her dad to Japan (afraid he was in some kind of trouble) only to see he was dealing with the Yakuza in Japan. When Kitty was discovered her dad gave Kitty to the samurai Ogun to save his own life. Wolverine eventually rescued her from Ogun’s hold, and neither of them ever really talked about what she went through. Kitty and her father barely spoke after that.

Kitty left the X-Men a few years later after Piotr sacrificed himself to end the Legacy Virus, and went off to college at the University of Chicago. She regained a loving relationship with her mother (who knew nothing of the Ogun incident) and a nice relationship with her father. Unfortunately her parents divorced in that time and her dad eventually moved to Genosha and died there. Kitty learns he was on Genosha by seeing a security tape of him in Magda Square trying to save some children during the sentinel holocaust. She sees his death on the video.

Kitty blames herself for not being there to save him, that guilt was one of the reasons she rejoined the X-Men.

Kitty and her mother are on good terms but her life seems so separate from her mother now that the don’t talk much. She still views Wolverine and Ororo as more parents then her real parents ever ended up being.

Day 2: What are your characters most prominent physical features?

Kitty is a dancer. She took 2 hour dance classes 5 days a week all through college in both ballet and jazz. As a result of this her build is long and lean but also fairly muscular. That coupled with her wavy/curly brown hair are perhaps her most prominent features.

Day 3: Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

Kitty has very few scars, but she does have one on her right shoulder, just below her collar bone. The scar was gotten not long ago when Kruun shoved a sword made of Breakworld metal, which is forged with Breakworld magic and is the only thing Kitty has trouble phasing through, into her shoulder. The sword pinned her to a sign to keep her away while he fought with Piotr.

Day 4: How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Kitty is not very vain. While she has been known to joke that she looks great, she’s really quite self-conscious about her looks, especially when it comes to her hair. If a remark is even the slightest bit negative about Kitty’s hair she gets very worried and will often immediately ask what’s wrong with her hair.

While Kitty often pretends to be comfortable with her looks, she is really quite the opposite. She has been seen worrying over and comparing her looks to those of her friends and teammates, specifically Rachel. Standing next to the other x-women Kitty feels very plain but she doesn’t like others to see her insecurities about her looks if she can help it. This is because she thinks that as a superhero any worries about her looks are small and selfish in comparison with what the team is out there doing and Kitty doesn’t want to be thought of as a child anymore.

Day 5: What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?

Kinsey Scale.

Kitty falls into the 0-1 range on the Kinsey Scale. She is for the most part 100% heterosexual. While she does enjoy occasional playful flirting and teasing with other girls, she could never see herself actually romantically or sexually involved with a female.

Day 6: Describe your character’s happiest memory.

Kitty’s happiest memory is when she discovered Lockheed had followed her back to Earth after the X-Men’s mission against the Brood. Professor Xavier and her were alone at the school and something was detected in the school’s lower levels so she went to investigate. What she found were giant bug creatures but Lockheed (who had been hiding in the school, waiting to reveal himself) burst out to destroy the bugs.

Kitty had met Lockheed on the X-Men mission while fighting the Brood. He was injured and she stumbled upon him fighting off the some Brood and she intervened, saving him. Lockheed and Kitty ended up bonding on the mission and Lockheed decided he would rather return with her to Earth.

Discovering that Lockheed had come to Earth made Kitty ecstatic because the little alien dragon had quickly become one of her closest friends.

Close seconds are her first date with Piotr, discovering Piotr was alive, and experiences she had during her X-Men free life during college.

Day 7: Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

The only memory Kitty would wish to erase is when she watched the video of her father on Genosha during the Sentinel Holocaust. She knew her father had been on Genosha during it and had investigated what happened to him. What she found was a security video of her father in Magda Square trying to save some children. She watched him die on the video.

The horrific image of her father dying is burned into her memory and she has had bad dreams involving it quite a few times. She wishes that she had found a record of what happened to her dad on Genosha in a way other than a video, but she is glad she knows how he died, and that his last moments were of him being a hero.

Day 8: Day of Favorites! What’s your character’s favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?

Kitty’s favorite colors are blue and purple. Her favorite ice cream flavor is French Vanilla, but her favorite flavor for milkshakes is Strawberry. Her favorite song is currently Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae but it changes a lot, and her favorite flower is the Calla Lily.

Day 9: Who does your character trust?

Kitty is quite trusting. It’s not that hard to earn her trust, but once that trust is broken it is incredibly hard to gain it back. Kitty trusts Logan more than anyone, after him is Kurt (when he was alive), then Ororo, and then Piotr. There are plenty of other people Kitty trusts as well but those are the four she trusts the most.
