Neat or on the rocks?

Bobby feigned mock offense. “Me? Losing my touch?” He held his hand to his chest, gasping theatrically.  ”The nerve!” He laughed, catching the subtle nod to her own abilities.

“No seafood? I’ll make sure to chew with my mouth closed, then,” Bobby quipped, winking.  He looked back down at the menu to make a decision, sneaking a glance at Kitty.  Be cool. The banter was relaxing.  It put him at ease to know that their usual relationship was not thrown by a “date” setting, and bolstered his courage to an extent. Even better, she seemed into it.  He had been mildly concerned that this was less of a try-out and more Kitty humoring him, but based on her wide smile, he guessed things were going better than planned.

“Maybe we could try a sampler? Or spinach and artichoke dip.  Time honored classics, of course,” he suggested.

Kitty groaned at the seafood joke and playfully ribbed him for it. “I haven’t heard that one since I was 7, Bobby. Maybe you really are losing your touch.” She smiled at him and closed her menu. She was glad she agreed to this date. Rachel had warned her off Bobby saying he wasn’t serious enough to be considered boyfriend material but she was really glad she looked past that and gave him a chance, this was really nice.

“Spinach and artichoke dip sounds fantastic.” Kitty could barely stop smiling as the waiter came over and took their orders. So for so good and they had yet to be attacked. “So Bobby, you enjoying living on Utopia? I still don’t know if I’m adjusted to it.” That was so lame, why couldn’t she come up with other things to talk about?
