I’ve gotten this question so many times that I feel the need to explain. This is in fact canon. A few years ago Marvel released the series “Wolverine: First Class” (which was a HILARIOUS and silly series) recounted Wolverine training Kitty but it more detail. In the 15th issue Kitty says that she idolizes Thor and it goes into that.

The issues description even states: “Kitty Pryde’s got a crush, and she’s depending on Wolvie to help her get the hook-up. But what can she really expect him to do when that crush is THOR”

Like I said, it’s a silly series. In the issue however Wolverine does basically make it possible for Kitty to meet Thor, she holds in her fan-girl self and asks him one question, which is hilariously enough about his hair.

What you’re supposed to take away from the issue is that Wolverine showed Kitty she’s just as much a superhero as someone like Thor. But it made it canon that Kitty is a fan-girl for Thor and that’s hilarious so I play it up.
